The moral of the story is this: DO NOT DO YOUR LAUNDRY WHEN YOU ARE SLEEP-DEPRIVED.
P.S. My apologies to my friends who are in town and are trying to buzz me for New Year's Eve festivities. It might turn on, it might not. For now, smoke signals and telegrams will have to suffice.
